Alibou, Ancient Witness is part of this new wave of exciting and interesting new Boros commanders belonging to the Lorehold College of Strixhaven. Alibou wants you to have lots of artifact creatures and for them to either attack or just get tapped easily for their triggered ability. This makes so many different strategies viable from tribal synergies like Myr and Thopters to wacky tapping and untapping and copying abilities with Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient. But for this version, we went with a lot of tokens and then added a very cool subtheme involving the always precarious Precursor Golem.
There runs a mild Golem theme in the entire deck, but when you have your Maskwood Nexus out every Myr and Thopter you make is also a Golem so when you go to cast your copy of Seize the Day on a Golem, needless to say, your opponents better have some way to stop you or it's GGs for real.
Lorehold via Strixhaven and the C21 precons have added so much to the much-maligned Red and White colour pair that I'm not even sure it's the "worst" pair in Commander anymore. Boros (Maybe we just call it Lorehold now though?) has so many new tricks and treats that it's finally a real force to be reckoned with and no longer a one-trick pony that folds to creature removal.
